All have been eagerly waiting for the marking methodology adopted by the CISCE for the evaluation of remaining ICSE Class 10 Board exam 2020 papers and ISC Class 12 board exam 2020 papers. Finally, the wait is over. CISCE has put the marking Imputation Formula to calculate the marks of remaining ICSE board papers 2020. The ICSE Marking Methodology for remaining ICSE Exam 2020 has been put by the council late night on 1st July 2020 on their official website.
What is the new marking methodology of ICSE board for remaining Papers of Class 10 and 12?

Factors used in the Calculation
Easy Explanation of marking Methodology for remaining papers of ICSE Exam 2020
Category 1
Category II
Let us assume that a student has to calculate his/her marks obtained in Geography.
Let us also assume that from the given ICSE Board exam papers 2020 a student’s highest marks in three subjects are :
Maths: 80 Physics: 75 and History: 70
The marks obtained by him in the internal assessment of the remaining paper (in our example-Geography) : 17 out of 20
Steps to Calculate marks in the remaining papers.
i.e (80 + 75 + 70) /3 = 75
2. Find out its percentage.
i.e. (75/80) x 100 = 93.75
3. Calculate the percentage of the internal assessment of the remaining subject paper (in our example-Geography) :
(17/20) x 100 = 85
4. Therefore, Predicted percentage board marks in the paper will be:
(0.7 x 93.75) + (0.3 x 85) = 65.625 + 25.5 = 91.125
5. Therefore, Predicted board marks in the paper will be:
91.125 x 0.8 = 72.9
6. Therefore, Final marks in the paper will be:
72.9 + 17 = 89.9
Example for Category II:
Let us assume that a student has to calculate his/her marks obtained in Comuter Applications.
Let us also assume that from the given ICSE Board exam papers 2020 a student’s highest marks in three subjects are :
Maths: 70 Chemistry: 65 and History: 75
The marks obtained by him in the internal assessment of the remaining paper (in our example-Computer applications) : 95 out of 100
Steps to Calculate marks in the remaining papers.
1. Calculate the average of the best 3 performing subjects
i.e (70 + 65 + 75) /3 = 70
2. Find out its percentage or equivalent marks out of 100.
i.e. (70/80) x 100 = 87.5
3. Calculate the percentage of Internal assessment of the remaining subject paper (in our example – Computer applications) is 95 out of 100
(95/100) x 100 = 95
4. Therefore, Predicted percentage board marks in the paper will be:
(0.7 x 87.5) + (0.3 x 95) = 61.25 + 28.5 = 89.75
5. Therefore, Predicted board marks in the paper will be:
89.75 x 1 = 89.75
6. Therefore, Final marks in the paper will be:
(89.75 + 95)/2 = 92.375
It is important to note that the students who have appeared only for 3 papers, best of 2 will be taken into consideration, the students who have appeared only for 2 papers, better one will be taken, the students who have appeared only for 1 paper, marks of that paper will be taken into calculation. The Marking Imputation Formula of ICSE can also be read on the official website of the council.
